How we control and manipulate our futures. Sometimes consciously through thought and speech, other times through physical manipulation - squeezing, pushing and carving things into what we think we want.
The shape of things to come
Thinking of getting away
The future of faces
Finding the meaning
Deconstruct and reconfigure
A series of playful collages created from one copy of Vogue magazine. Looking at the idea of how high fashion connects or misconnects with our subconscious.
What the eyes see the hand will do
Gate to the inner realms
If history tells it right
Torn from above
Dazed but not confused
If you say so
Run run run
Flows of thoughts
Some runners clear their minds when they run, with each step the mundane thoughts that clutter the mind are set free into the universe.
Through the senses
Exploring a heightened sense of smell while running
Continued collage work using deconstructed elements of magazines reconfigured to form new narratives that unfold and take form as pages are destroyed.
Into distant lands
Forward on we move
a place to remember
A series of 25 sketchbook drawings from memory / imagination highlighting the process of 'remembering'. The act of recall when drawing plays a major role in how we interpret thoughts/memories to paper. For me there is often a single and very specific visual point or cue that images work their way out from.
Sketchbooks, drawing and thinking part 02
A series of collages from the perspective of the past and visions of possible future events. This collection work brings sense of a time and a place but in the existence of memory only, not now but then, exactly then in that precise moment in time. A view of an existence from a very specific point in space and time. I have examined the process of thinking and my ability to recall moments of past experience to bring a sense of a new space and time.
Sketchbooks, drawing and thinking part 01
A series of collages born from the sketchbook and developed while on an artist residency program in Nevada.
